The Twitterati are out in full force, with one aim: to ruin the operas we know and love by changing one letter.

Don’t you hate it when someone probably your mum, always gets the name of famous songs, operas or pieces of music wrong?

Well, now Twitter have decided to embrace it. From a modern adaptation of Verdi’s celebrated work, set in a budget supermarket – Asda – to Purcell’s Baroque opera starring a dog in the lead role – of course, the great Fido and Aeneas – here are some of the world’s most famous operas, made *quite different* by changing just one letter.

It all started with this tweet that we sent out, expecting to hear radio silence:
